1. Lower the feed dogs. 2. Set the machine for straight stitch. 3. Place the fabric beneath the presser foot. 4. Use both hands to hold the fabric firmly. 5. Begin to sew moving the fabric at an even pace in order to sew uniform stitches roughly 1/16" - 3/32" (2.0 - 2.5 mm) in length.
