Tired of hand-pulling basting threads for gathering? Instead, use the gathering foot for light and medium weight fabrics and not for furnishing fabrics. Make ruffles and flounces effortlessly.
The underside of the foot is raised behind the needle and has a slot in front of the needle to gather and attach a ruffle onto a flat piece of fabric simultaneously.
Only a very slight gather is achieved with this foot, for a more effective gather we recommend the 'Ruffler Attachment'.

How to use the Gathering foot
- Set your machine to the straight stitch.
- Set your thread tension to 3-6, the stitch length above 3 and the width to 0.
- Sew on one layer of fabric while ensuring it is fed straight.
- Do not pull the fabric.
