The piping foot will have its limitations when using thicker piping including the heavy jumbo cord and this is when the adjustable zipper foot will be invaluable.
A screw-on type foot, it can be adjusted to fit snugly against the cord when covering your own piping or when attaching commercial piping. (AN EXCELLENT ALTERNATIVE!)
How to use the Adjustable Zipper/Piping foot:
- Set your machine to a straight stitch.
- Thread tension should be on “Auto” or 3-5, your stitch length should be 1.5-4 and the width on 0
- This foot can be set to sew on each side of the zipper.
- The edge of the foot guides the zipper to ensure straight placement.
